Swansea City are stuck at the bottom of the league but they will be flying high after their impressive win over Liverpool. The Swans have improved since Carlos Carvalhal replaced Paul Clement. Since his appointment, Swansea have only lost one of his seven games. Confidence levels have increased and there is every chance that they can survive another relegation battle.
Arsenal have won two of their last five games with the most recent victory coming against Crystal Palace. However, the Gunners have a poor away record this season and are yet to win an away game in 2018.
Swansea midfielder Renato Sanches will miss the game against Arsenal. He limped off with a hamstring injury in Saturday’s FA Cup draw against Notts County.
Federico Fernandez is likely to return, after missing Saturday’s game because of a nose injury.
Arsenal’s new signing Henrikh Mkhitaryan is set to make his debut following his move from Manchester United last week.
Oliver Giroud will be in the squad after recovering from a hamstring injury and could be involved but Danny Welbeck and Santi Cazorla remain out.
Swansea should be confident going into this match and a buoyant home crowd can be the 12th man they need. While Arsenal have struggled away from home, I expect them to get a result here. My prediction is Swansea City 1-2 Arsenal.
