The FA Cup third-round begins this weekend with holders Arsenal facing Nottingham Forest at the City Ground.
Arsenal are the current holders of the FA Cup having defeated Chelsea 2-1 at Wembley to win the trophy for the record 13th time.
Nottingham Forest are currently managerless after sacking Mark Warburton. His dismissal followed a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Sunderland. Academy manager Gary Brazil is in charge of Forest as their caretaker manager while they find a replacement. Forest were knocked out of the third round last season as Wigan beat them 2-0.
Forest will check on the fitness of striker Daryl Murphy who missed the goalless draw against Leeds on New Year’s Day.
Granit Xhaka will miss the match because of a groin injury. Sead Kolasinac (ankle), Olivier Giroud and Aaron Ramsey (hamstring) and Nacho Monreal (ankle) remain sidelined.
Arsene Wenger, who is starting a three-match touchline ban against Forest, will rotate his squad but should still have enough quality to overcome the Championship side. My prediction is Nottingham Forest 1-3 Arsenal.
