Arsenal are fourth in the table and currently two points clear of Liverpool. The Gunners are on a formidable run at the Emirates and could win 13 home league games in a row for the first time since November 2005.
Manchester United are the strongest challengers to Manchester City despite being eight points behind their bitter rivals. Just like Arsenal, they have won four of their last five games, losing once.
Arsenal’s club-record signing Alexandre Lacazette picked up a groin injury against Huddersfield and is out for the game against Man United. Alexis Sanchez should be available despite being substituted with a hamstring problem.
Nemanja Matic is a doubt for Man United. He was forced off with a muscle injury at Watford. Marouane Fellaini is out of action due to an ongoing knee problem. Eric Bailly, Phil Jones and Michael Carrick all remain sidelined.
In big games, Jose Mourinho sets his team up not to lose, rather than to win. As usual, there has been a lot of hype around this game but I don’t think it will be particularly entertaining. My prediction is Arsenal 1-1 Manchester United.
